Hello! My name is Shasha S. and I am the creative director of the performing fusion belly dance troupe Sun DeLarge. I have been a part of the Salt Lake City belly dance scene since 1993 and I have experience dancing with many live bands, at a variety of parties plus numerous restaurants and weddings. In 2003 I directed the (no longer performing) belly dance troupe Whirlwinds of Brogla for 15 years. The new troupe Sun DeLarge is derived from the Whirlwinds of Brogla. In 2006 I was featured in Astara Knowley’s monthly excerpt, Bellyography, in the Utah magazine ‘SLUG’ (Salt Lake Under Ground). Currently I perform at a variety of belly dance events, fundraisers and arts festivals. In addition to my belly dance projects I co-host the podcast Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer with my good friend Tony Sandoval. A podcast that has a variety of topics and guests and also features a music commentary show hosted by Tony titled Open Air Sonar.
