This is Not a Podcast. This is Just a Blog

Some podcast episodes were meant to go to the homies. I have a few homies in particular that I’m always giving shiz to. Well here now is a podcast episode that will be forever lost. Tina and I recorded episode 6 and it turns out only eleven minutes recorded. The break! LmFaO! Record/Pause, I recorded the break! Gimme a Break! Like Big T says to me, “…don’t worry kid, it’s trial and error”. So in the name of Big T. Okay! I have put the lost episode in a bubble and said goodbye to it.

More news: the OPEN AIR SONAR is also an episode behind because Tony had to get his gear together and fixed. His show was so freakin’ awesome he blew a plug or something and started gilchin’ and doing a Max Headroom thing. His show will be back next week as well.

So please stand by for episode 6 of Six Degrees of a Belly Dancer where we share the talents, thoughts, stories and experiences of our guests. We highlight belly dance tid bits, topics, instructors and events plus more! And of coarse, we share our stories too! So turn us on and see if we can turn you on. wink wink to your new friends at the SDBD!

Little disclaimer: After 27 years of belly dancing; I am not a qualified teacher, educator, or certified instructor of the subject, but I am a belly dancer who can share my experience, opinions and comments on the matter. I have danced with many great people in this community and in others. I had one of the greatest mentors (Revonda) to help build my foundation and I have learned from my unique and wonderful sister dancers that I have danced with in past and today. I have taken some of the most inspiring workshops from the some the best instructors in the belly dance world. We continue to do so.

It takes a belly dancer to know a belly dancer.

It takes a belly dancer to know a belly dancer.

I have had the opportunities to dance with live bands, talented drummers and belly dancers. I have danced at cultural weddings and unique weddings, I have had regular restaurant gigs, haflas, parties, special guest appearances, fundraisers, festivals and workshops. I have made new friends, I have lost friends, and as always there is a bit of drama. Please do not confuse the new podcast show as not a belly dance show. It is! All of us belly dancers have lives outside of the subject and we are here to have fun, make friends and share their art, talent, hobbies, and stories we may not know. Of coarse give us all the dirt! Tell us something we don’t know. Haha. Fuck it ! It is the best therapy to just tell everyone!

OH yeah; there is another show that spins off the Six DeGrees of a Belly Dancer podcast. OPEN AIR SONAR with Tony Sandoval!

That would be the most bad ass line up of music genres every week with Tony, our SDBD co-host. He has his own music commentary show that is found only on our podcast SDBD. He is a certified, bona fide, vinyl record appraiser of the dark and rare. An experienced radio personality and musicologist. And a really good friend of mine. Biggest thank you TonY! For helping me get this started and sharing your talent with us.

So with that being said! Tina would say: Shimmy On!…Listen for us next week and we will do some catchin up.
